A convexity theorem for noncommutative gradient flows

In this survey we shall prove a convexity theorem for gradient actions of reductive Lie groups on Riemannian symmetric spaces.

In the final section the theorem is applied to gradient actions on other homogeneous spaces and we show, that Hilgert's Convexity Theorem for moment maps can be derived from the results.

We observe that our methods clearly show that the restriction p>amp;gt;2n/n+1 is closely related to cancellation and size properties of the gradient of the Poisson kernel.

A new generalized gradient projection type algorithm for linearly constrained problems

In this paper, we provide a new generalized gradient projection algorithm for nonlinear programming problems with linear constraints.

In this paper the reactiondiffusion systems and the damped wave systems with nonlinear terms of gradient form are studied, and the conditions for making them to be gradient systems are given.

Global convergence of the general threeterm conjugate gradient methods with the relaxed strong wolfe linesearch

The global convergence of the general threeterm conjugate gradient methods with the relaxed strong Wolfe linesearch is proved.

A class of nonmonotone conjugate gradient methods for nonconvex functions

This paper discusses the global convergence of a class of nonmonotone conjugate gradient methods (NM methods) for nonconvex object functions.

Under suitable assumptions, the global convergence of this algorithm is proved without assuming the linear independence of the gradient of active constraints.

It is proved that the constituted algorithm with either Wolfetype or Armijotype line search converges globally and Qsuperlinearly if the function to be minimized has Lipschitz continuous gradient.

The results showed that PCn and other thiolcontaining compounds in standard mixed solutions were rapidly separated within 15 min by using a ACN 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid binary gradient elution.

Separations were carried out on an Agilent (ECLIPSE XDB) C18 analytical column by gradient elution with 0.25% acetic acid and methanol (containing 0.25% acetic acid).

In the gels of pH 58 immobilized pH gradient (IPG) strips, 851 protein spots were detected in normal myocardial tissue and 1 032 protein spots were resolved in infarcted myocardial tissue.

This method is different from classical algorithms in which the gray differential values of the mutual vertical direction are combined into one gradient value.

Compared with the gradient vector flow snake, this new model has a low computational cost.

According to Swapping technique, we develop two filters and convert dynamic parametric models into static ones to which the gradient update law is designed.
