    Through examination of absorbance peaks of –CH_2 and –CH_3 and their ratios, combined with corresponding microscopic observation of hydrocarbon inclusions, it has been found that the inclusions with higher ratios of CH_2 to CH_3 are not fluorescentor weakly fluorescent, and represent the products of heavy oil formed by evolution of hydrocarbon source rocks from low maturity to medium maturity.
