    This paper ventures to comment on Shelley's famous academic monograph"A Defense of Poetry"(1821)and his prominent revolutionary lyric "Ode to the West Wind"(1819),focusing on his theoretical principle "poetry may well be defined as `lmaginative expression'"and making a further probe into the correctness of it.
    通过对他的著名文论《诗辩》 (ADefenseofPoetry ,182 1)的研究 ,对他的抒情诗《西风颂》 (OdetotheWestWind ,1819)逐段剖析鉴赏 ,以此证明雪莱确立的“诗可以界说为‘想象的表现’”这一文艺理论命题的正确意义。
    The present paper examines Ode to the West Wind and its four Chinese translations from a comparative perspective, to show different degrees of influence of western poetics over Chinese translators during different periods of history.
    而后结合四人各自的译诗理论和实践探寻他们翻译方法中所受西方诗学的影响,进而将一篇《西风颂》在不同时期、不同地域的数个译本和其中所体现的译诗理论作为数面镜子,从中管窥西方诗学对身处不同时期和地域的译者的影响。
