This earthquake was in correspondance with the beginning time of one subsidence with a large amplitude on coast; when the fault displaced the upper wall was blocked by the NW trending fault plane, and the corripressional structure and the collapsed rock-flow consisting of giant-gravel were formed; the striae and micro-displacement in the fault are obvious.There are traces of ancient earthquaks, lots of large amplitude of elevation and subsidence etc. a-long the coastal zones of Fujian, Guangdong and Hainan, especially in the areas of strong earthquakes. There are two sequences of earthquake periods along the coastal zones for the past 850 years odd, and the period of coastal elevation and subsidence is about 500 years during the past 5000 years or more, indicating that the periodic sequence of earthquakes is also about 500 years.
