This paper describes the operating principle of radar-impulse type fault locators used in high voltage overhead lines. Frequency spectrum analysis of the transmitting pulse is made; Expressions for pulse propagation and echose are given.On account of interference characteristics of the transmission lines, the method of coherent reception was adopted in developig the system in this paper, block diagram of the system is provided and, at the same time, the anti-inter fere-nee ability of the system is analyzed.

This paper discusses and analyzes error code performance when Binary Frepuency Shift Keying waves 2FSK are receipted by the transformation way of frequency-phase, flowchart and the test method of the error code performance of this experiment circuit by use of TP-801 single board computer. It has been proved that its error performance is better than that of the best incoherent reception for 2FSK.
