This article depicted the phenomenon of disorders in using sentences by mentally retarded children in sixth grade in a certain school. In present study, 77 cases (from 9- to 14-year-old)children with different degrees of MR (mental retardation) were tested and their map reading ability was detected. Meanwhile the performance of MR children was compared with that of normal children. The results show that (1) the map reading ability of MR children develops as their age increases; (2) the map reading ability of MR children is mainly influenced by the factor of rotation; (3) the map reading ability of MR children is influenced by the abstraction...

The results show that (1) the map reading ability of MR children develops as their age increases; (2) the map reading ability of MR children is mainly influenced by the factor of rotation; (3) the map reading ability of MR children is influenced by the abstraction of map at the level of relative low ability of map reading; (4 ) intelligence is one important factor to influence the development of children’s map reading ability. The performance of 14-year-old MR children at the task of rotated map is as low as 8-year-old normal children’s.

本实验对77名具有不同程度智力落后,年龄在9-14岁之间的弱智儿童的识图能力作了研究。研究中着重考察了图的旋转和图的抽象性对弱智儿童识图过程的影响,同时还将弱智儿童的反应成绩与常态儿童的反应成绩作了比较。结果发现:(1)弱智儿童识图能力发展的总趋势随年龄的增长而提高;(2)旋转因素是影响弱智儿童识图的主要因素;(3)图的抽象性对儿童识图的影响主要表现在儿童识图水平相对低的时候。这一点在弱智儿童身上表现得更为突出。(4)智力水平是影响儿童识图能力发展的一个重要因素。弱智儿童到14岁时,对旋转图的正确反应只相当于常态儿童8岁时的水平。
