One seventh of the world energy consumption is from biomass energy and more than 1. 5 billion of the world population still makes use of it as their daily energy consumption. Biomass energy is such a sort of energy which not only carries the characteristics of the fossil fuels, but also can be stored, transported, renewed and converted with less restriction of natural conditions. For instance, it can be converted into useful heat and electrical energy, and various forms of fuel for power generation by ways of...

One seventh of the world energy consumption is from biomass energy and more than 1. 5 billion of the world population still makes use of it as their daily energy consumption. Biomass energy is such a sort of energy which not only carries the characteristics of the fossil fuels, but also can be stored, transported, renewed and converted with less restriction of natural conditions. For instance, it can be converted into useful heat and electrical energy, and various forms of fuel for power generation by ways of burning directly, gasification or liquefaction. Through gasification, it can be converted into high quality combustible gas, mainly CO, H2, CH4. And through anaerobic digestion, it can be converted into biogas, which is a promising technology for biomass gasification. There are four ways to convert it into liquid fuel, namely heat-treated, biochemical, mechanical and chemical.

The studies and developments in lignin-based surfactants were reviewed in thispaper. Many kinds of surfactants, e. g., dispersants for dyestufts, wateredecreasing agentsfor concrete, emulsiners for bitumen, sacrifiCial agents and co-surfactants in enhanced oilrecovery,can be made ftom technical lignins. In normal cases, technical lignins should bechemically modified before they are used as surfactants because neither lignosulfonate andalkali lignin possess good surface activity. The studies and developments in lignin-based surfactants were reviewed in thispaper. Many kinds of surfactants, e. g., dispersants for dyestufts, wateredecreasing agentsfor concrete, emulsiners for bitumen, sacrifiCial agents and co-surfactants in enhanced oilrecovery,can be made ftom technical lignins. In normal cases, technical lignins should bechemically modified before they are used as surfactants because neither lignosulfonate andalkali lignin possess good surface activity. As technical lignins are abundant and cheap,lignin-based surfactants may take the place of some syllthesised surfactants made frompetroleum products. The production of lignin-based surfactants also helps to decrease thepollution of waste liquor from paper mills. More attention should be paid to the fundamentalstudies on the relationships between the characteristics and surface activity of technicallignins because these studies provide us the theoretical basis for developing new lignin-basedsurfactants.

以工业木素为原料,可开发出多种表面活性剂产品,如染料分散剂、混凝土减水剂和加气剂、沥青乳化剂、表面活性剂采油的牺牲剂和原油乳化阵粘剂、液态燃料乳化剂等。木素表面活性剂价格低廉,有较强竞争力,开发木案表面活性剂有利于充分利用木素资源和治理纸厂制浆黑液造成的环境污染,应当加强这方面的研究工作,特别是基础研究。
