Remedy measures should he taken against any possible dangers for former utilitives in oil storage, the fire preventive space between oil storage and nearby buildings, any of which are not in accordance to the code requirement. On the other hand, operaters must be technically trained and those unqualified are not allowed to be on post; anyone should observe the rules and regulations of operation; fire fighters should be ready and on guard all the time, and fire equipment maintained and put into use periodically. These are all for the same aim, safety.

Abstract The cause of piercing on an oil tube of a processing unit during a fire accident was analyzed. With the tube temperature raised to above 850℃C owing to the fire, certain materials acting as strong carburizing agent are formed in the oil and the hermetic tube acts as a "carburizing furnace" making the inner tube wall to carburize. The strong carburization effect lowers the melting point of the steel, rendering steel to drip on the inner tube wall.For this reason, the thickness of the tube can be rapidly...

With the tube temperature raised to above 850℃C owing to the fire, certain materials acting as strong carburizing agent are formed in the oil and the hermetic tube acts as a "carburizing furnace" making the inner tube wall to carburize. The strong carburization effect lowers the melting point of the steel, rendering steel to drip on the inner tube wall.For this reason, the thickness of the tube can be rapidly reduced in a matter of 2 hours to the extent that piercing occurs. Since the depletion of tube material starts from inside, it is difficult to detect the damage by ordinary means from outside. Thickness measurement should therefore be made along the whole tube that had been exposed to the fire during the incident. Destructive inspection may sometime be needed.

本文对在一次炼油装置的火灾事故中,位于着火区的输油管道的穿孔原因进行了分析,指出当管子的温度超过850℃时,在管内的油中出现具有强渗碳性物质,密封的管路成了“渗碳炉”,对管内壁进行渗碳.强烈渗碳的结果导致钢的熔点下降,管内壁逐渐变为钢液流淌下来,以致在短短的2h内管壁迅速减薄,甚至穿孔.当发生类似情况时减薄从管内壁开始.检查时不易从外表发现内壁的破坏,因而必须对整段管线进行测厚必要时应解剖管子.
