The possibility of using EDTA as a masking agent for copper in the photo-metric determination of nickel by the dimethyglyoxime method has been inves-tigated. It is found that (1) neither the color of the nickel nor that of the coppercomplex can be formed if EDTA is added before the dimethyg]yoxime reagent. (2)If EDTA is added aftet the color has been developed, the nickel complex remainsunchanged while the copper complex is destroyed; but in strong alkaline solution,the dimethylglyoxime-copper complex appears...

This method has been used in the determination of nickel in copper ore.

The complex compound formation of cupric ion with ethylene diamine was studied polarographically in sodium perchlorate (or sodium nitrate) solutions of ionic strength equal to 0.1M (or 1M). It was found that when the concentration of cupric ion is 1×10~(-3)M and that of ethylene diamine is over 0.6M, Cu~(Ⅱ) trisethylene diamine is the predominent species thatexists in solution, and when the concentration of ethylene diamine is below 0.6M Cu~Ⅱ-bis ethylene diamine is the main complex that exists in the solution....

本文用极譜法研究三乙二胺合銅絡合物的形成,在离子强度为0.1M NaClO_4(或1M KNO_3)中,发现当銅离子濃度为1×10~(-3)M左右时,乙二胺濃度在0.6M以上溶液中以三乙二胺合銅为主要型式,乙二胺濃度低於0.5M时,溶液中以二乙二胺合铜为主要型式,其結果与从吸收光譜所得者一致,乙二胺合铜的稳定常数,是根据Lingane法,Deford及Hume法处理其值如下。
