Based on analysis of the characteristic of water from the dust scrubbing system of the converter and the successful practice for treatment of that water in Honghe Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. ,the principle,method and process control(water quality control) criterion for chemical treatment of such water are discussed.
This paper analyses the main factors that affect the copper converter life through the statistical data and describes the relevant measures for its solution; after implementation of these measures,the average service life of the converter after medium overhaul has been extended from 112 heats to 189 heats,the figure of total heats after the major overhaul has broken through 950 and unit consumption of magnesia brick per tone of copper has been reduced from 21kg to 3.7kg.
