This paper describes a method of measuring the small frequency shift of a resonant cavity, as a perturbation is introduced in it. This is an important problem on the measurement of R/Q of a cavity or the interaction impedance of a slow wave Structure. The method is based on the principle of automatic frequency tunning, i.e. tunning a reflex klystron oscillator tracking the resonant frequency of the cavity to be measured automatically by means of a discriminator. The oscillation frequency of this system and the frequency shift after introducing the perturbation are then measured by a heterodyne frequency meter. Analysis and exprimental result show that, by this method, the minimum discriminating frequency shift is 10-5-5× 10-6 (relative value) in S-band, as the Q0.of the cavity is 500-1000.. The tracking error is about 2%.

The principle of frequency discrimination(FD) by digital transversal filter is discussed. A detailed analysis of the FD method by autocorrelation and auto-convolution is given and the slope and bandwidth of the characteristics of FD is obtained. In addition, the curves ΣI~ε and are computed and given in this article.This FD method can be used for AFC of the coherent-on-receive system.

A method used to recovery carrier of TDMA with frequency multiplexer-filter-AFC loop is proposed, and the computer simulation results are given. A simple method for analyzing the effect of loop delay with linear differential equation is used when considering the effect of loop delay on phase tracking performance. The results that are consistent with the computer simulation results are got. The experimental results are in agreement with the computer simulation results.

本文提出了一种用倍频-滤波-自动频率微调(AFC)环路来提取TDMA载波的方案,给出了计算机模拟的结果。在分析环路时延对相位跟踪性能的影响时,给出了一种用线性微分方程进行时延分析的简便方法,并得到了与计算机模拟相一致的结果。实验结果与计算机模拟结果一致。
