Methods Drug utilization index (DUI) was used to analyze the prescriptions of antipyretic analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs to out-patients in the fourth quarter of 2001. Results and Conclusion In 71.4% of the prescriptions, the DUI ranged from 0.9 to 1.1, indicating basically justified utilization of antipyretic analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs in Nanfang Hospital though with occasional abuses of somiton tablets.
Results The etiological drugs were anti--tubdrculous drugs(27. 8% ), analgesics and anti-inflammatory drug(25 % ), anti-tumor agents (8. 3 % ), some herbal medicine(8. 3 % ), and also include antibiotics, sex and anabolic steroid, anti--psychotic durgs, antithyroid agent, antidiabetic agents, sedative-hypnotics, antifungal agents, antiepileptic, and so on.

Analysed were 84 cases of acute gastric mucosal lesion(AGML)caused by Analgesics and Anti-Inflammatroy drugs in old patients,The clinical manifestaions,including sporadic upper gastric bleeding,upper abdomen malaise,were often covered by the original diseases.
