This paper studied the water resistance and acid resistance property of Y 2O 3 and Gd 2O 3 contaning La 2O 3 B 2O 3 BaO glass, Results indicated that the poor chemical durability of La 2O 3 B 2O 3 BaO glass can be improved by replacing La 2O 3 by Y 2O 3 and Gd 2O 3.
The resultshowed that it could improve the flux’s thermal expansibility, glazed color generation and glossiness withceria added at the range of 0.25~0.5%, and there is no effect on acid resistance.
The results show that acid resistance of aluminum oxide film is greatly improved with post treatment in cerium chloride containing solution, and is better than that with sealing at room temperature, while alkali resistance decreased which may be attributed to the preferential solvation of rare earth compound in alkaline media.
