Objective To investigate the effect of allogeneic hepatocyte transplantation (HcT) plus augmenter of liver regenration (ALR) intraperitoneally on acute hepatic failure (AHF) induced by D-galactosamine (D-gal) in rats.

We establish the acute ischemic liver function failure of the porcine to study the character of acute liver function failure and make an evaluation of the effect of an in vitro perfusion supportive therapy of the biotic liver.
Results There was one early death caused by acute hepatic function failure and one late death caused by repeated lung infections. The follow-up of 1 to 4.5 years showed that all patients′ cardiac functions were grade Ⅰ to Ⅱ, and arterial oxygen saturation was 92%～96%.
