Based on Karman nonlinear equations, post buckling behavior of the clamped orthotropic shallow conical shell under uniformly distributed pressure is studied. By means of the modified iteration method, the approximate formulas of the second degree for load deflection and critical load are obtained, and using these formulas the numerical results as l 2 =0.6,1.4and 1.8 are calculated.

By application of Galerkin variational method, the critical eigenvalues, buckling loads and critical stresses are computed for shells with various truncated ratios in full concinnity. The results indicate that the critical stress σ cr decreases with decreasing the geometric parameter ν and increasing the truncated ratio λ.
