The cracks, fracture appearance and corrosion products have been studied by means of optical microscopes, SEM, EM and X-ray structural analysis. A large number of transverse-cracks occurred in the weld metal of AISI 321 tube welded with HOCrl8Ni9Si2 welding wire and HJ260 welding flux after storing on the sea shore for several years. The cracks, fracture appearance and corrosion products have been studied by means of optical microscopes, SEM, EM and X-ray structural analysis. The cracks with obvious directionality and large depth-width ratio form initially at the surface of weld metal and appear to be highly branched. The fracture surface appears as quasi-cleavage steps, chevron, fan-shaped and river patterns, accompanied with characteristic secondary cracks, square corrosion pits and austenite skeleton dendrite. The corrosion products contain a large a-mount of Cl-, SO4= and O2. After detailed identification the failures have been proved as a result of stress corrosion cracking. The causes of its formation and the measures to avoid the failure have been proposed. It has been clearly suggested that stress corrosion cracking in this case relates to α phase dissolution. The relationship between the different fracture patterns and the initial columnar crystals, as well as the equiaxed grains has also been discussed.

In this paper,the main cause and the mechanism of weld porosity of Monelelectrodes with slag system such as TiO_2-CaF_2 titanium type,CaF_2-CaO-TiO_2oxide-free type and CaO-CaF_2-SiO_2 low hydrogen type were studied.Experimentsshowed that intensified deoxidation,denitrification and dehydrogenation in the elec-trode coating are the important technical measures to eliminate porosity.In hand weld-ing of Monel metal,since nitrogen and hydrogen are the main factors causing po-rosity in welds,the addition of stronger denitrifiers like Ti,Al etc.into the elect-rode coating is definitely a necessity.The electrodes should be thoroughly dried andwell baked.The physical property of the melting slag plays an important and directrole in the shape and quantity of the surface porosity.The proper selection ofwelding procedure and welding parameters may effectively suppress the porosity inMonel welds.Lower arc voltage,fairly low welding speed and preheating for heavyworkpiece are recommended.

本文对钛型渣系(TiO_2—CaF_2)、无氧涂料渣系(CaF_2—CaO—TiO_2)及低氢型渣系(CaO—CaF_2—SiO_2)的蒙乃尔合金焊条在焊接时产生气孔的主要原因与机理进行了研究。试验表明,加强涂料中的脱氧、脱氮及去氢是消除气孔的重要途径。蒙乃尔合金手工电弧焊接中,氮与氢是促成焊缝产生气孔的主要因素。因此,应当在涂料中加入较强的脱氮物质(如钛、铝等),焊条要严格烘干,并注意加强熔渣反应中的去氢作用。焊条熔渣的物理性能直接影响焊缝表面气孔的形状和数量。合理的焊接工艺参数对消除蒙乃尔合金焊接气孔是有效的,如用较低的电弧电压,稍慢的焊接速度,大型工件进行预热都有利于焊缝中气体的排除。

本文根据断裂力学理论,应用重函数法及三维有限无断裂专用程序,计算油罐底边焊缝表面裂纹的应力扩大系数 K_Ⅰ;裂纹产生在焊缝的应力集中区上,故对应力扩大系数进行修正。并将三种计算结果与平板的表面裂纹(属于二维问题)Raju 及 Newman 的计算(非油罐焊缝)进行比较。
