Tests have been carried out with feldspar and quartz as abrasive material in a wear

It is suggested thatthere is the transient state, Mo5+ form,which was never found before, on the friction surface ofMoS2 except Mo4+ and Mo6+ state,therefore,the friction oxidation process of MoS2 is verycomplex. We should recognize the friction oxidition products of MoS2 and the tribochemicalmechanism again,because of the importance for the study of the synergistic effect of the frictionalenvironment and additives on the antioxidation of lubricants.The electronic configuration ofMo5+ is 4d1 which is stable under room temperature in the air or in oxygen,but under the influenceof the frictional environment or additives its non-paired electrons transfer easily to Mo6+, Thechemieal shift of Mo5+ and Mo6+ 3d is -1. 20eV,The reaction proceeds in the direction of positivereaction when the surface obtains a small active energy.Mo6+ ion transforms into Mo5+ free radicalion with the high chemical activity by receiving one electron with the same energy,thus resulting inthe electron transfer on the frictional surface of MoS2.

Friction and wear behaviors were studied for Sialon, Al2O3 and SiC unlubricated sliding against themselves with block-ring apparatus at 5ON normal load and 0.9m/s sliding velocity. All materich and worn surfaces as well as debris were extensively characterized by means of SEM, TEM and XPS. Mixed surface film of SiO2 and Al2O3 improved the wear of Sialon. Wear of Al2O3 is explained in terms of the grain fracture. Wear of SiC is caused by the formation of powders and loose wear debris which was due to the oxidation of SiC.

本文研究了高温结构陶瓷Sialon、Al2O3、SiC的自配对滑动干摩擦摩损性能,运用SEM、TEM、XPS手段观察和分析了磨损面的表面形貌、磨屑形状及相组成.目的是揭示陶瓷材料在试验条件下的滑动干摩擦磨损规律和摩擦磨损机理.结果表明:Sialon是微剥离磨损,摩擦过程中产生的氧化产物能改善材料摩擦;Al2O3的磨损机理是磨屑边界润滑下的晶粒拔出和沿晶断裂;SiC表现为犁沟-磨屑-犁沟过程的磨损,并伴有摩擦氧化发生.
