This paper introduces the measurements of air attenuation correction factors for three NBS(National Bureau of Standards)flee-air chambers.A sensitive large cavity chamber and a scaled vacu-um tube were used to measure the air attenuation coefficient.The method described above has highersensitivity than those used by Attix when he measured the same coefficient.It solves the difficulties ap-peared when measuring air attenuation factors for heavy filtered X-ray beams.
