At the field of Carrier Grade Linux, iSCSI is now getting more and more critical. For that the storage resource may be dispersed the network and is hard to monitor, iSNS provides a mechanism for device discovery, storage assignment and device state change notification. In Linux system, iSCSI service can be optimized by iSNS, which enables iSCSI with the functions of device registration, discovery domian and state change notification.
