This paper gives the investigation result of an autopilot for ships by using algorithm of adaptive PID and H ∞ robust control. This autopilot has modes of course keeping and track keeping. The algorithm of adaptive PID can change the coefficients of proportional, integral and differential gains according to the condition of weather, sea states, loading and the heading error so as to suit the demands of ship's navigation. The algorithm of H ∞ robust control uses the mixed sensitivity problem S/T/KS...

The algorithm of adaptive PID can change the coefficients of proportional, integral and differential gains according to the condition of weather, sea states, loading and the heading error so as to suit the demands of ship's navigation. The algorithm of H ∞ robust control uses the mixed sensitivity problem S/T/KS to design the course keeping controller with the aid of MATLAB robust control toolbox. Auto navigation is adopted in the track keeping algorithm so as to keep the ship navigating in the allowed error band of the planned route all the time, the whole program of the system is implemented by C language. Laboratory simulations have been carried out under various environmental conditions with satisfactory results.

给出了用适应式PID及H∞鲁棒控制算法实现的船舶自动舵的研究结果;自动舵具有保持航向和航迹功能;适应式PID算法是根据船舶航行时的天气、海况、负载及航偏角大小改变PID比例、积分、微分系数以适应船舶航行需求;H∞鲁棒控制算法是藉助MATLAB软件包的鲁棒控制工具箱,应用H∞控制理论的S/T/KS混合灵敏度问题设计船舶航向保持控制器;航迹算法采用自动航行方式以使船舶始终航行在计划航线的允许偏差带内;整个系统的程序用C语言实现,在多种环境条件下进行了仿真研究,结果是满意的
