The starting point is a regular point. The second kind is depicted in figure 2. The upstream separation line is the combination of saddle point and nodal point. In this paper, the spatial flow pattern of an open separation for the first kind is also studied. The crossflow separation exists along the separation line and begins from the starting point of an open separation line. This is no streamline passing through a starting point on the separated flow surface except for the separation line itself.

Analysis shows that different separation patterns are caused by same pressure condition adverse pressure gradient perpendicular to the separation line,and regular open separation can be transited into close separation directly.
