The cutability of free-cut copper-base alloy not only depend on the element lead added into the alloy, but is also intimatly related to the micro structure, the distribution, the size and the form as well as the mechanical characters of lead. Results show that,the main factor which influence the distribution and form of lead is the casting technology used, that is, continuously casting is necessary for the best cutability, and static casting is not recommented,

易切削铜合金的切削性能除了受铜合金中添加元素铅的影响外,还与金相组织、铅分布大小形态和机械性能有关。实践表明:影响铅分布形态的主要因素是材料的铸造工艺,即连续铸造比静态铸造(即铁模浇铸)好。
