The first crossed molecular beam reaction apparatus in China has been built for studying moleculal reaction dynamics.Elementary chemical reaction can be observed under single col- lision condition using this equipment.The major goal is to study state-to-state reactions.Func- tions of such an expensive machine are considered as many as possible. This machine consists of three main parts:vacuum system,beam sources and detecting instruments.A series of pumps differentially pumped vacuum chambers are arranged for gas beam,buffer,oven,reaction zone and mass filter respectively.Oil diffusion pumps are adap- ted for all the chambers to evacuate except for the mass filter chamber using an ion pump. One of the beam sources is a supersonic nozzle beam and the other is a heated oven.It can be heated electrically to the temperature as high as 1600℃,which may produce various metal atom beams.The pressure in the reaction chamber is able to be maintained atabout 10~(-5) torr when both beams are operated.Following detecting means are considered:(1)a fixed quadru- pole mass filter to determine the mass number,beam intensity,and velocity;(2)a mono- chromater for analysis of chemiluminescent products,(3)a tunable dye laser for LIF,and (4)camera or OMA(optical multi-channel analyzer)for measuring angular distribution of chemiluminescent products.Thus,this equipment may be applied to following experimental researchs:(a)state distribution of chemiluminescent reaction products,(b)state distribution of“dark product”using LIF,(c)effect of initial energy state of reactents on reactions, and(d)photodissociation through laser.

We report here our works carrred out with quadrupole mass filter in a molecular beam apparatus for the study of Ba+N_2O chemiluminescent reaction. These works include two parts:(1) To detect the chemical components of the gas mixture in the supersonic beam at different operation condition and to measure the relative number density of N_2O molecules. (2)To measure the mean translational velocity of N_2O molecules in the supersonic beam by time-of-flight and to discuss the dependence of the translational velocity of N_2O molecules on the N_2O/He seeding ratio of the binary gas mixture and on the nozzle temperature. The results of our experiments and calculations indicate that the seeding ratio plays a more important role in changing the translational energy of reagent N_2O than the nozzle temperature which mostly affects the vibrational energy of N_2O molecules. The experimental results also show that the N_2O/He seeding ratio of gas mixture in molecular beam at the reaction zone is different from that of gas mixture in nozzle and the former is larger than latter.

四极滤质器在交叉分子束研究中的应用,为质谱技术开辟了一个新的应用领域。本文报道了在交叉分子束装置上研究Ba+N_2O化学发光反应时,四极滤质器完成的二项工作:(1)测试不同条件下超音速分子束中混合气体的成分和N_2O分子的相对数密度;(2)用时间渡越法(TOF)测试超音速分子束中N_2O分子飞行的平均速度,并且从理论上讨论了双元混合气体中N_2O/He载气比和喷嘴温度对N_2O分子速度的影响。实验和计算结果表明,载气配比对改变反应物N_2O的平动能作用很大,而喷嘴温度主要影响N_2O分子的振动能,对于平动能的影响相对小些。实验结果还表明,在反应区,分子束中N_20/He比例与喷管内混合气体的N_2O/He比例不同,前者大于后者。

This paper reports the experimental results of the emission spectra and energy transfer of CF2(3B1) produced by reaction O(3P)+C2F4. Some new vibrational bands and Franck-Condon factors are obtained. The relation between the vibrational state distribution of CF2(3B1) and the flux of C2F4 are also given.

本文报道O(~3P)+C_2F_4化学发光反应生成的CF_2(~3B_1)的发射光谱和能量转移的实验研究结果,获得了一些新的振动带和Franck-Condon因子,并给出了CF_2(~3B_1)的振动态粒子数分布与C_2F_4流量的关系。
