The non--homogeneityof the magnetic field is less than±4×10~(-4) when the magnetic induction≤1.008 T.The measured results of the extended fringing fields of this magnet indicate:When the magnetic induction changes from 0.4 to 1.5 T, the variations of thevirtual field boundaries of the extended fringing field, So, are less than 0.006 g_0(g_0=40 mm, the gap of the magnetic pole), the integrals I_1 and I_2 are less than0.028 and 0.006 respectively. The first-order corrections and second-order aberration calculations werecarried out. in the case of entrance and exit angles are equal to 27.13°, thesymmetric double focusing can be realized and by using concave shape exit poleedge with radius of 1443 mm, the second-order aberrations can be furtherreduced. The lead isotope ions ~(204)Pb~+, ~(206)Pb~+, ~(207)Pb~+ and ~(208)Pb~+ can be separatedclearly, the beam current of ~(208)Pb~+ reaches 10 μA on the target, so heavy elementisotope ion implantation is practicable.

The parameters of the system are determined by a computer method.A small circular beam spot with 1.2 mm diameter and zero space dispersion property will be obtained at target point.M1 and M2 are in series,and excited with the same coils.Thus they are opposite in polarity and vary synchronously.Gaps of M1 and M2 are the same.M3 is a c-type magnet.For 20Mev electron ham and 6cm bending radius, operating fields of M3 the M1 are 11400 and 5700 Gauss respectively.The magnetisation curve of M3 is satisfactory.Due to the strong fringing of M1,the actual effective boundaries are more than predeterminate boundaries.Two shielding ion boxes are placed before and after the pOle of M1 respectively to limit fringing field.The positions of the shielding boxes are calculated by Poisson program.For M2 and M3,the same corrections for fringing field are also done.The system is set.A small circular spot with less than 2mm diameter is formed at target point. The good focusing the zero-dispersion properties and the edvantnge in configuration mate the system especially suitable for medical linac.
