This paper deals with the influence of factors such as environmental illumination, rotation speed of screen, water temperature, structure of visual field and body length on the optomotor reaction of nile tilapia (Tilapia niloticus), and describes the reaction characteristics of individual, population and monoculars of the fish. The result shows that within certain range, the optomotor reaction of fish enhances with rising environmental illumination and water temperature, declines with increasing screen rotation speed and body-length. The fish reacts most effectively to black-and-white vertical stripes, less effectively to oblique stripes, and none to horizontal stripes. The reaction of optomotor intensifies with the increasing width and number of vertical stripes within certain range. There is no obvious difference in the reaction of individual and population. The reaction of monocular fish is evidently weaker than that of normal-binocular one, and the former has obvious orientation.

In large container inspection systems, the image is constructed by parallel scanning with a one-dimensional detector array with a linac used as the X-ray source. The linear nonuniformity and nonlinearity of multiple detectors and the nonuniform intensity distribution of the X-ray sector beam result in horizontal striations in the scan image. This greatly impairs the image quality, so the image needs to be corrected. The correction parameters are determined experimentally by scaling the detector responses at multiple points with logarithm interpolation of the results. The horizontal striations are eliminated by modifying the original image data with the correction parameters. This method has proven to be effective and applicable in large container inspection systems.

A new model of simple cell in the visual cortex based on independent component analysis(ICA) is proposed. The ICA basis functions obtained from some natural images are approximated with Gabor functions, which show the inherent relations between ICA basis and receptive field of simple cell in the visual cortex. And the growth of the visual cortex of the young animal in the special environment was simulated by applying ICA. It confirms to the Blakemore and Cooper experiment resulting from in 1970.

提出了一种基于独立元分析(ICA)的视觉皮层简单细胞工作机制的模型。用Gabor函数逼近对自然图像进行ICA而获得的基函数,揭示了ICA基函数与视觉皮层简单细胞感受野反应间存在内在的关系。并对水平条纹的图像进行ICA,模拟在特殊视觉环境下生长的幼年动物的视觉皮层发育过程,证实了1970年Blakemore和Cooper在幼猫上的实验结果、从而说明ICA可以模拟动物的视觉皮层简单细胞工作过程。
