AIM: To explore the impact of two tasks and three planes on the mental rotation of pilots in upright position. METHODS: Eighteen healthy male military pilots were tested by mental rotation test and their reaction time (RT) were measured and compared under six-condition matrix composed of 3 planes (the traverse plane, the sagittal plane and the coronal plane) and 2 tasks (viewer rotation and array rotation). RESULTS: Different tasks and planes had significant influences on the mental rotation in pilots (P< 0.01) but no significant interaction was found. The RT of viewer rotation was shorter than that of array rotation (P< 0.05) in each plane. The RT of traverse rotation was shorter than the coronal rotation and the sagittal rotation (P< 0.05). CONCLUSION: Performance is better on the viewer task than that on the array task. The viewer rotation advantage of mental rotation exists not only in the traverse plane of pilots but also in the coronal plane and the sagittal plane. In the three planes, the speed of traverse rotation is the fast.

Objective Using new generation Computed Tomography (CT) to reconstruct optic canals from Chinese people.To establish the parameters sets for clinical ophthalmology.Make evaluation for each reconstructive technique.Methods (1) Different reconstructive method was applied,using 16 Slices CT,to compare its coherence with the reality.(2) Anatomic signs from 42 optic canals of 21 regular Chinese people were measured.CT reconstructive threshold was properly set up according to the anatomic measurement.The rest signs were measured and statistically tested based on CT reconstructive spatial scale.Results (1) Reconstructive CT Image was subtler by 0.1mm interval dense reconstruction.(2) Integrity of optic canal could be reflected by most reconstructive techniques.(3) The inner structure of optic canal could be optimally indicated by Virtual Endoscopy (VE).The effect of VE reconstruction was superb in spatial appearance and topography of the inner optic canal.(4) Rotational projection method combined with In Space technique was reliable for measuring the spatial distance.(5) Normal measured value based on CT reconstruction in Chinese was set up.It showed that the middle part of optic canal was most narrow.Conclusions New generation CT scanning and reconstructive technique was a reliable diagnostic method.The subtle structure and the related region of optic canal was well indicated,besides,the measurement was accurate.The future of the technique in Ophthalmology is very prospective.

目的应用新一代CT技术重建正常国人视神经管;制定适用于眼科临床的各种参数;并评价不同重建方法。方法(1)利用新一代16层螺旋CT,分别采取不同重建方法,进行视神经管的重建,比较其重建形态的一致性。(2)对21名正常国人42个视神经管解剖标志点进行测量。根据解剖学测量结果,选取合适的CT重建域值参数,并对其余测量点进行CT空间测量及检验。结果(1)采用0.1mm密集重建后的CT影像更为精细。(2)多种CT重建技术可以反映视神经管的整体空间形态。(3)仿真内窥镜技术(VE)可以清晰显示视神经管的内部形态改变,所得影像的空间效果感及表面起伏立体感明显。(4)空间处理重建影像(InSpace)技术结合旋转平面投影法,能测量各径线空间长度,是一种可靠的量化标准。(5)测得正常国人视神经管CT值,显示中段为视神经管最狭窄处。结论新一代多层CT扫描及重建技术是一种可行的诊断手段。不仅能显示和测量视神经管的细微结构,还从空间毗邻关系方面,提供更多准确信息。这一方法在眼科的应用前景十分广阔。
