In the sections of the testes fixed at the intervals of 30 and 60 minutes after irradiation we observed within the seminifereous tubules the germ cells of different developmental stages having various reactions: (a) the spermatogonia may form the chromosomal bridges at the anaphase of mitosis; (b) the spermatocytes at the growth period may undergo pycnosis, nuclear swelling, reversion of pachytene nucleus to the resting state, or formation of syncytia; at the time of meiosis, they either form chromosomal bridges, possess irregularly distributed chromosomal clumps, or die at the stopped metaphase; (c) the spermatids and the developing sperms may appear pycnotic, undergo nuclear or cytoplasmic vacuolization, form syncytia, or enclose one or more anormalous nuclei, resulting from the lag or abnormal development; (d) the mature sperm, the Sertoli cells, as well as the interstitial cells are not affected. 3. The cells of the same stage are subjected to the various degrees of radiation injury and the mode of their reactions is also various.4. The problems, such as the cellular radiosensitivity, the mitosis and the expression of the radiation effects, and the action of radiation on cytoplasm and nucleus, are tentatively discussed.

The ovaries of 552 flies, among which 462 treated with Thio-Tepa and 90untreated for control, were dissected and studied morphologically. The results indicatedthat the sterility of female house-flies was due to the degeneration of oogonia in theovaries. The chief patho-morphological changes of the ovary were as follows: The folli-cles became firstly opaque, the number of oogonia gradually decreased and degenerationfollowed. Finally, the oogonia completely disappeared and then the ovary entirely atro-phied. 3. The degree of degeneration of oogonia is proportional to the dosage of Thio-Tepa and the duration of treatment. 4. The factors that influence the degeneration process of oogonia in the ovary werediscussed.

(一)本文利用Thio-TEPA的不同浓度和不同处理时间,饲喂雌、雄性家蝇成虫,对雌蝇进行了化学药剂不育机制的研究。 (二)通过解剖的552只(供试者462只,对照者90只)家蝇卵巢制片标本的镜检观察,初步证明Thio-TEPA对卵母细胞的发育和生殖腺的再生机能严重地受到抑制和破坏作用,因而产生了退行性变,导致不育的效果。卵巢病理形态学的主要变化过程,乃以滤泡细胞变混浊为先驱,进而使卵母细胞产生退行性变及细胞数量减少,最后造成卵巢体内卵母细胞完全消失,成为无卵泡的卵巢体。同时卵巢体亦呈明显的萎缩。 (三)饲喂的试药浓度越大和处理的时间越长者,卵母细胞招致变形所出现的时间越早,并且使该组所有雌蝇的卵母细胞出现消失时间亦较早。同时,卵巢体萎缩的程度亦更加明显。反之,饲喂的试药浓度小和处理时间短者,不仅卵母细胞的变形和消失的时间较迟,而且退行性变的进程往往表现了参差性的状态。 (四)对于卵母细胞产生退行性变进展的不一致性及其可能造成的原因,进行了讨论和分析。

Quednau, W., in 1956 and 1960, proposed to take biological characteristics as thecriteria for distinguishing the species or ecotypes of Trichogramma but neglected thestructure of the male genitalia. Ishii (1941) published a paper indicating that the structures of the male genitaliawould be the main characteristics for identification of species of Trichogramma and des-cribed two new species, namely Trichogramma chilonis and T. jezoensis, for the specimenscollected by himself. Owing to the preparation technique, the structures of the malegenitalia had not been brought out clearly so that his drawings were not accurate enough.The present writer has improved somewhat the preparation technique, making the parts ofthe male genitalia of Trichogramma more distinguishable. The male genitalia of Trichogramma consist of a dorsal sheath with a dorsal medianprocess extending backwards. Beneath the sheath lies a subgenital spiculum, the shapeand size of which are variable in different species. Joined to its lateral sides, is a pairof parameres or claspers. At the extremity of each clasper a hook is attached. Theaedeagus, that extends ventrally under the spicule, is armed at the extremity with twovalves or laminae aedeagus, in which the endotheca is sometimes visible. Besides thestructures mentioned above, there are two stiffer lateral lobes, extending out from thephallobase for protection. For the purpose of comparative study, both the egg-parasite of the corn-borer, Tricho-gramma chilonis, and that of peach tortricid, T. minutum were examined and conspicuousdifference in the parts of the genitalia were found between them (Fig. 1, A & B). At the same time, the writer has found that the ciliation of the forewing of T.chilonis is quite different from that of the rice paddy borers' parasite, T. japonicum, es-pecially at the junction of the 6th (longitudinal) and 8th (transverse) lines(Fig. 2, A & B). Moreover, T. chilonis possesses a smaller subgenital spicule in the malegenitalia, while T. japonicum lacks it. According to these characteristics, the writer, there-fore, prefers to retain Ishii's species. In this connection, a hitherto un-recorded species, Trichogramma embryophagum, isreported. It is first found in Tantung vicinity (in Liaoning Province), parasitic on Chineseoak silkworm eggs, and appears to be of a "thelyotokous ecotype".
