Constant synchronously rotating system components dc and qc and method of small oscillational equations are used ia the analysis; steady state oscillational principles, spectrum frequency analysis of discri-minating occurrence of self-excitation are discussed. Correlation between these methods are also described....

Constant synchronously rotating system components dc and qc and method of small oscillational equations are used ia the analysis; steady state oscillational principles, spectrum frequency analysis of discri-minating occurrence of self-excitation are discussed. Correlation between these methods are also described. Results obtained from this theoretical analytic method are compared with those obtained from experimental tests, the agreement between them is very close. It is found that the basic nature of self-excitation phenomenon of asynch-ronous machine, as shown from the results of this investigation, is a kind of resonance among the electro-mechanical parameters of the machine. Traditional methods of analysis, being used so far by many writers, regarding the speed of the machine as a constant factor, cannot reveal the effect of rotational inertia of the machine upon the self-excitation process.

Based on the principle of virtual work the equilibrium equations of various orders are formulated. Particularly the system of third-order is given in detail, witn a result to provide the reference for accuracy analysis of lower order equations. A theorem about the differentiation of Legendre Series term by term is proved as the basis of mathematical analysis. Therefore the functions used are specified and the analysis rendered is no longer a formal one. The analysis will show that the Kirchhoff-Love's theory is merely of first-order and the theory which includes the transverss deformation but keeps the normal straight is essentially of first-order, too.
