AIM: To observe the relationship of the receptor closed-circuit of nerve terminal of sarcolemma at Fengmen (UB 12) point in rabbits and receptor closed-circuit of the skin end-brush. METHODS: The experiment was done in the Biochemical Laboratory of Tumor, Affiliated Lianyungang Hospital, Xuzhou Medical College from October to November 2004. The sarcolemma of the four male rabbits was treated with the nerve tracer fluorescein at Fengmen point, surviving at 18 to 24 hours, the derm of C2~L5 dorsal root ganglions, sympathetic ganglion of neck and chest, inferior mesenteric ganglion, cerebrum, cerebellum, thalamus, brain stem, spinal cord, stomach, small intestine, myocardium, lung, sacrospinal muscle, liver, bladder, spleen, abdominal aorta, inferior mesenteric artery, lymph node at abdominal cavity and the part of involved regions and the derm at sacral region, which were froze and made into serial sections of two sets. One set was distilled water sticking section, and observed under the Olympus ZX-004 fluorescence microscope directly. The other set was observed under the fluorescence microscope after hematoxylin-eosin staining. To observe if it had relationship with the skin receptor closed-circuit. RESULTS: Totally 4 rabbits were treated with sarcolemma injection with fluorescein at Fengmen points successfully, and totally 288 pieces of the films were gained. ① The labeling cells were found at C3~L3 spinal ganglia, and most of the labeling cells appeared at T3~T12; The labeling cells were also found at the sympathetic ganglion of the neck and chest and inferior mesenteric ganglion; The parasympathetic neurons labeled at stomach mucous membrane; A large number of ganglion cells labeled at small intestine mucous membrane and mucous membrane; A great amount of mini cells which arranged bandlike labeled at the cerebral lateral ventricle wall; Part of multi-angle cells labeled at the bottom of the epithalamic tetra-brain ventricle. ② There were fluorescence dense regions found at anterior spinal cord, posterior horn, cerebellum, sarcolemma of sacrospinal muscle, latissimus dorsi and diaphragm, myocardial tunica intima and adventitia, stomach, wall of urinary bladder, bronchus wall of lung, wall of hepatic duct, the adventitia of cholecyst wall, and mucous membrane, synovium of shoulder joint, abdominal aorta, tunica intima and adventitia mesenteric artery, adventitia and the involved parts and sacral region and blood capillary loop in ear skin. CONCLUSION: The network of the receptor closed-circuit of nerve terminal of sarcolemma at Fengmen point in rabbits is composed of four neural network, including part of the nerve cells at the elevation center of cerebrum and hypothalamus, dorsal root ganglion, sympathetic ganglion, postganglionic neuron, and parasympathetic neurons etc., and it is bigger than the network of the skin end-brush receptor closed-circuit.

AIM:To explore the relationship of the receptor closed circuit of intradermic nerve terminal at Fengmen acupoint in rabbits with the receptor closed circuit of cutaneous terminal, and provide the morphological base for skin channels and collaterals in traditional Chinese medicine.METHODS: The experiment was conducted in the Biochemical Laboratory of Tumor, Lianyungang First People's Hospital from October to November 2005. ①Four male rabbits were selected and randomly divided into retrograde neural tracing for 18-24 hours group and 30-36 hours group with 2 rabbits in each group. ②Rabbits of two groups were intradermically injected with 1 g/L fluorescent riboflavin containing 500 μL nuclear yellow (Sigma, No. 74681-68-8) at bilateral Fengmen acpoint under urethane (1.5 g/kg) anesthesia for retrograde neural tracing. The rabbits survived 18-24 hours or 30-36 hours in the 18-24 hours group or 30-36 hours group were sacrificed, respectively. ③The frozen serial sections were made in spinal ganglia from C2 to L5, cervical and thoracic sympathetic ganglia, inferior mesenteric ganglion, cerebrum, cerebellum, thalamus, brain stem, spinal cord, stomach, small intestine, myocardium, lung, kidney, sacral spinal muscle, latissimus dorsi muscle, diaphragmatic muscle, inferior mesenteric artery, dermis in the referral area, pars sacralis, dermis at Zusanli acpoint and ear, respectively. The sections were made into 2 series: one was stuck in the distilled water, then observed under an Olympus ZX-004 fluorescence microscope directly to find fluorescence marked neuron and fluorescence dense area of nerve terminal; the other was stained with hematoxylin and eosin, then observed under the fluorescence microscope to determine whether there was new discovery.RESULTS: Four rabbits were involved in the result analysis. ①In the retrograde neural tracing 18-24 hours group, the labeled cells were found in spinal ganglia C3 -L3, and more cells in T5-T12; the labeled cells were also found in cervical and thoracic sympathetic ganglia and inferior mesenteric ganglion. A lot of ganglion cells were labeled on and below small intestinal mucous membrane. Fluorescence dense areas were found in posterior horn of spinal cord, olivary nucleus in hypothalamus, sacral spinal muscle, latissimus dorsi muscle, sarcolemma of diaphragmatic muscle, myocardial intima and adventitia, stomach, bladder wall, bronchus wall of lung, wall of hepatic duct, adventitia and mucous membrane of cholecyst wall, synovium of shoulder joint, abdominal aorta, tunica intima and adventitia of mesenteric artery, renal tubule, referral area of stomach, dermis at Zusanli acpoint, pars sacralis and blood capillary loop in ear, respectively. ②In the retrograde neural tracing 30-36 hours group, most of the labeled cells disappeared in spinal ganglia C3-T2, but still many labeled cells appeared in T3-T10. The distribution of labeled cells in cervical and thoracic sympathetic ganglia, inferior mesenteric ganglion and ganglion cells of small intestinel was similar to that of the 18-24 hours group, and the same in the region of fluorescence dense area but more intensive.CONCLUSION: The network of the receptor closed-circuit of intradermic nerve terminal at Fengmen in rabbits is mainly composed of spinal ganglia, sympathetic ganglion, postganglionic neuron and ganglion cells of small intestinel; it is similar to that of the cutaneous terminal.
