A program is provided for detecting the hiding defects of stress concentration on the drillpipes with Hall sensors and photoelectric encoder based on a notebook computer. According to the drillpipe structural characteristics, a dolly appropriate for drillpipe and Kelly detection is designed, of which its probe is adjustable. Based on the object-oriented design ideal, VC++6.0 Language is used to develop a detection software for a corresponding analysis. The data processing techniques available are emphatically introduced. Field test indicates that the device can be used both for an effective testing of its stress concentration and evaluating the altitude of the concentration. The device can be deployed for a proper prevention of accidental drillpipe failure.
