Populus spp are important trees on the sandy loam soil in the northern part of China. They have straight trumks, higher storks and like aboundant water and fertilizer, especially grow faster at border row. In the conditions of abundant light and good circulation of air, they grow vigorously, but the diseases and pests occur seriously. Hence mixed forest are suitable, especially with Robinia pseudoacacia, Hippophae rhamnoides. Attention should be paid to keep a suitable mixing ratio that is very important.
