The picking cam profile equations are derived,and exemplified with ac- tual calculations carried out for the profile designed by which of a silk-weav- ing machine picking cam.A comparison is made between this profile and a graphically-designed one,showing that the former is moreadvantageous.It Is concluded that this analytic designing method is desirable for cams used in spatial cam mechanisms with swinging roller follower moving in aplane per- pendicular to the cam plane.
