The phosphatase zymograms showed six bands in the S, RM, MD and M-D strains but four bands in the RD strain. There was no conspicuous difference in the cholinesterase activities and in the cholinesterase zymograms in the different strains of this mosquito.

We developed a new method for mapping DNA by using the terminal hybridization techniques.The adevantages of the method are: 1, the fragment to be mapped needs not be isolated from the plasmid; 2, nick translation system is used for the probe labeling, in stead of the special reagents for terminal labeling used in the usual DNA mapping procedure; 3, the fragments cloned in the same plasmid can be mapped by using the same fragment from vecter plasmid as a probe.
