The results of a field experiment show that foliar spray of boron containing ammonium potassium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate and ammonium monopotassium phosphate on cotton can strengthen the resistance of the cotton plant to diseases, increase cotton yield by 2.47% to 11.92%, and improve the evenness of the cotton fiber, the strength of the single fiber and the maturity factor.
in this paper, the soil nutritional characterises, the component and distribution of mineral nutritional element of cotton plant, lint yield, the relationship between them and the reason caused have been studied by potting cotton with four types of purple soils in Sichuan, and tested the soil and cotton plant at the same time.
The results indicated that the six elements-nitrogen,phosphorus, potassium, boron, molybdenum and copper are the most necessary in purple soils of Sichuan cotton belt, they are always some deficient in cotton plant, and are the soil nutrient of more contribution to cotton yield.
Electroantennogram responses (EAGs) of Lysiphlebia japonica (Ashmead) (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) to cotton plant volatiles and cotton aphid pheromones were measured with EAG recording techniques. No sexual difference of EAG responses was found to all test samples under concentration of 10 μl/ml.
The study shows that the oleic acid, valine and proline in cotton plant has a significant effect on population dynamics, and the oleic acid, aspartic acid and serine in it had the some effect on alate of adult aphid.
Changes in the chemical composition of cotton plant stems used as a substrate for solid-phase cultivation of the fungus Panus tigrinus were studied, as well as the effect of these changes on properties of pressed materials made of these stems.
Even the nonhost (castor) plant, under high intensity conditions, attracts the insects more than the host (cotton) plant under low intensity conditions.
Outbreak populations were, however, ephemeral; predation and parasitism suppressed aphid populations prior to the initiation of flower bud production, when cotton plant growth may become photosynthate-limited.
Aiming at the right use of boron fertilizer in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, a number of soil samples have been tested. The analytic data affirmed that the soils of this county fall into the category of boron-deficiency with quickly available boron contents of 0—20 cm depth only 0.401±0.186ppm.The data also showed that the quickly available boron contents of all soils varied greatly with regions, and their differences among soil types have reached 5% significant level. It is preferable to divide the soil...
There are large areas of zinc-deficient soils in the regions to the north of the Yangzi River. The contents of available zinc in soil are genrally under 1.00PPm in he areas. In this paper the zinc contents and its geographical distributions in Henan are disclosed. There are 60 million mu of cultivated land are severely zinc deflicient and 30 million mu potenially deficient. The forms of zinc in soils and the techniqne its applicatiou are discussed. The yields of cotton plaut, rice, eorn, wheat and fruit trees, ...
