The results showed as follows: the plasma level of S(-)-propranolol was higher than that of R(+)-propranolol, resulting in significantly higher peak plasma concentration Cmax (S(-): 25.7±10.1versus R(+): 17.2±7.7 μg/l. p<0.01)...

The apparent oral clearance of S(-)-propranololwas significantly lower than that of R(+)-propranolol (S(-): 129±59 versus R(+):191±89 l/h,p<0.05). but the half-life of elimination did not differ significantly between the two isomers (S(-): 5.53±1.56 versus R(+): 5.44±2.92 h, p>0.05). To compare the racemate with two isomers ofpropranolol in the same individual. the differences of the pharmacokinetic parameters were not significant(p>0.05). This observation suggests that the differences of stereoselective disposition of propranolol cannot explain the interindividual variability in Chinese individuals.

In this paper, hydrophilic small peptides differing in only one glycine amino aeid can be successfully resolved by HPOZE. The effects of the structure parameters and column termperature on the migration time of these peptides have been discussed. Linear relationship betweent and n~(1/2) has been found. Relative migration times have been found to be well correlated with M~(1/2) for these small peptides.
