By thermodynamics analysis the paper shows that during gaseous boronizing for the medium of BC_3+H_2, the retained H_2O and O_2 in the atmosphere not only can make BCl_3 and B atoms lose their boronizing ability but also consume more BCl_3, accelerate the formation of Fe-Cl compound and lead to more Boronized layer voids.
