A method of calculating the current reservoir pressure based on the rate of pressure build-up using the least square principle is introduced. With the help of computer, the arbitrariness of manual treatment of data is overcome and the accuracy of pressure calculation is improved. Calculations by computer for 340 wells show that the absolute error tally with that of Song I Method to the extent of 92. 5% when the absolute error is at|△P|≤2 bar atm.
