Based on the water level data of East Taihu Lak on August 1984, andthe lake current data of Taihu Lake on september 1993, this paper discussesapplication of the method of numerical inlay to set up an inlay-mesh model of thecharacteristics of East Taihu Lake's wind-driven currents in various wind regimes.Taihu Lake (30°55'40" -31°32'58" N and 119°52' 32" - 120°36' 10" E) is one ofthe famous five fresh water lakes in China, and the largest lake in Jiangsu Province.East Taihu Lake is a shallow water bay on the east part of Taihu Lake, and has areaof 130.0km2, maximum depth of 1.3m, mean depth of 0.9m and volume of 1.81 ×10 8m3.Based on the shallow water characteristics of Taihu Lake, the contininty equationand the momentum equations in Cartesian coordinates can be written aswhere △ is Laplace operator. The stable wind-driven cuerent is theresultant combination of some gyres and coasta curmnts in the lake (Fig.2). In thecase of NW wind, the water of West Taihu Lake flows into East Taihu Lak, andgenerate some gyres there, so tha the polluted water from West Taihu hake mayremain in East Taihu Lake. In the case of SE wind, the water of East Taihu Lakeflows into West Taihu Lake. In this case, East Tahu Lake is not influenced by thepolluted water of West Taihu Lake. Wind-driven curmnt is the important factor insummer which causes the water quality of East Taihu Lake to be of higher qualitythan that of West Taihu Lake, and the cyanobcteria bloom in West Taihu Lake to beheavier than that in East Taihu Lake.

The water exchange between Meiliang Lake and Zhushang Lake is separated by the reclamation of Mashang area, influencing the winddriven current types of Meiliang Lake, and causing water renewing to be decelerated.

Each wave energy component of the swell spectrum due to stable wind is symmetrically unimodal distribution of direction. Although the relative energy distribution of wind wave spectrum due to strong wind is appoximately unimodal, its symmetry is poor. The extremal spectrum density directions of components of wind wave spectrum types are different. This indicates that wave components of different frequencies have different principal directions.

根据傅氏级数展开法和贝叶斯方法,对现场获得的阵列资料进行了方向谱实例分析。结果表明,实测风浪方向谱能量的相对分布与相应的波场类型密切相关。涌浪和由稳定风场引起的风浪方向谱各组成波能量相对于方向呈单峰对称分布。大风引起的风浪方向谱能量的相对分布,虽也近似为单峰,但对称性差。不同波场类型的风浪方向谱各组成波的谱密度极值方向不同,表明不同频率的组成波有不同的主方向。
