The traditional seed cotton yield model, i. e. seed yield per area=bolls per unit area×boll percentage picked before the first frosting×seed poll×weight per seed, fits in with the direct cultivatoin of cotton seed and rough seed processing technology to produce fuzz or stripped fiber seed. Whereas our new developing seed yield model, i. e. good seed cotton yield=bolls per unit area×boll percentage picked before the first frosting×mature seeds per boll×weight per seed, fits in with thd seedling transplanting cultivation and such fine seed processing technologies as shedded fiber from seed by Sulphuric acid and seed coated. Mature seeds per boll are not only a yield component in quantity, but also a qualitative intension since they are effectively used in the production. It is proposed that the seed yield in our new developing yield nmodel be named as the good seed in order to make a difference from the seed yield in the traditional yield model. Through the grey rational analysis, a comparision of yield components for different plant types in two seed yield models were made to assure which component has the great influence on yield and select the best plant type. This information should be of great reference value to promote the specilized multiplication of good seed and increase the social benefits.
