The glacial-deglacial ventilation is found in some cores, especially in Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). The mass accumulation rate of 4 cores during Late Quaternary are calculated, showing highest value in LGM. The organic carbon preservation is controlled...

The organic carbon preservation is controlled by dissolved oxygen concentration clay mineral content, water depth, and benthic mix intensity, where dissolved oxygen concentration is the improtant factor that controls organic distributon in Nansha Islands waters. The relative abundance of benthic foraminifera fauna, such as Uvigerina and Bulimina, was used to indicate the dissolved oxygen content and organic carbon content.The organic carbon content is in close relation to productivity in the ocean, which can be used to reconstruct the long periodic changes in ocean paleoproductivity. Here we have used two methods, the Mller and Suess'equation, and Sarnthein's equation. The results from the above two methods have been compared with the present data which are calculated by data of chlorophyll a, Where the result of the second method is more consistent to the present value,because it has considered dissolved oxygen concentration and water depth.

Based on the systems of analytical method and the serious declining of oceanic productive forces and increasing of harmful phenomenons in China, the oceanic ecotope problem has been put forward, it may promote oceanic evaporating that was polluted water. It is of meaning to understand oceanic ecotope problem and practice for sustainable development on the ocean in China.

海洋科学在 2 0世纪后半叶得到迅速发展 ,海洋在人类可持续发展中的重要地位也日益为人们所认识。在 2 1世纪初 ,我国所关注的海洋科学问题中有两方面特别重要 ,一是海洋在季节、年际、年代际尺度的气候变异中的作用 ;二是近海系统对自然变异、人类活动及全球变化的响应。在回顾 2 0世纪对大洋环流和海洋生产力两者所取得进展的基础上 ,对我国在上述两方面应关注的科学问题作了简短的讨论。
