In this report the two old Eastern Asian Genera Idiococcus and Serrolecanium are revised,the relationship between them is discussed,anew species maanshanensis is described and ilustrated,and suppose to treat Idiococcus as a synonym of Serrolecanium. Sum up above a table for morphological comparison of the 2 new genera and 4 species is presented,the main viewpoints are given below. The genus Idiococcus is unquestionable a member of Antoninae,Pseudococc- idae,and cogeneric with Serrolecanium. The 4 contained species show well-graded sequence by tobai-sasae→maanshan ensis→bambusae in evolution on 3 ways:1),to elongate the bodyform;2),to enlarge the pore-area after hind leg;3),to degrade the terminal serrate structure.The last two seems to be clung organs for adapting the body form vari- ation,but they are in conversely evolutionary sequence. The bag-like appendages of Idiococcus seems to be not the vestigues of the hind legs as for former scholars said,but on the 2nd abdominal segment,and we think that these are the secrtionary organs for adhering the elongated body to the smooth surface of the host bamboo.

本文为1983年八月应邀参加第十届中欧昆虫国际科学大会及第四届世界蚧虫会议的论文中文稿,英文稿将于该会论文集中刊出。论文报导世界一古老疑难属 Idiococcus 一新种的发现,由而澄清该属分类地位,建议将本属处理为锯安粉蚧 Serrolecanium 的同物异名。

Cybocephalus nipponicus distributed widely in all citrus areas of China. It is an important predator of the armored scale pests,preferably the ar- rowhead scale (Unaspis yanonensis Kuwana ).This article reported the results of an investigation on the biological characterestics of Cybocepha- lus nipponicus in 1978~1981 at Chongqing.The predator has 3~5 over- lapping generations annually .Results from field observations showed that the larvae appeared in seven months and the adults could be found all year round.The...

Its favored prey is young male larvs of U.yanonensis.70.3 male larvae of the arrowhead scale at 1st instar wymph can be attacked by one adult daily.Spraying Dicofol,Calcium polysulfide,Decis or machine oil gave no damage to the adults and larvae of C.nipponicus.

日本方头甲广泛分布于我国各柑桔产区,是盾蚧科害虫的重要天敌。本文报道1978~1980年的调查研究结果。在重庆年发生3~5代,世代重叠。田间观察表明,一年中幼虫出现达7个月左右;成虫周年可见。捕食盾蚧科害虫9种,粉蚧科害虫1种,叶螨科害虫1种,并具有嗜食矢尖蚧雄虫的习性。成虫日取食矢尖蚧一龄末期雄虫70.3头。三氯杀螨醇、石硫合剂、溴氰菊酯和机油乳剂对本种天敌的成虫和幼虫都较安全。

While we were conducting the investigations of the pests of loquat in Yunxiao County,Fujian Province in 1982,Formicococcus eriobotryae Wang was found as a new and important pest infecting the loquat root.This was a new species identified and designated by Mr.Wang Zhiqing from the Insti- tute of Zoology,the Academy of Sciences in China. This paper covers the discovery,occurrence,and damage of the pest. Living in the root of loquat host plant and existing in association with Septobasidium sp.,the pest attackes...

While we were conducting the investigations of the pests of loquat in Yunxiao County,Fujian Province in 1982,Formicococcus eriobotryae Wang was found as a new and important pest infecting the loquat root.This was a new species identified and designated by Mr.Wang Zhiqing from the Insti- tute of Zoology,the Academy of Sciences in China. This paper covers the discovery,occurrence,and damage of the pest. Living in the root of loquat host plant and existing in association with Septobasidium sp.,the pest attackes the root,weakening the loquat tree, resulting in reduced fruit production and the death of the tree after 3-4 years.The control and quarantine measures of the pest are suggested and morphological descriptions of the pest at different stages are also discussed in the paper.

1982年在福建省云霄县调查枇杷害虫过程中,发现一种枇杷重要的新害虫,经中国科学院动物研究所王子清先生鉴定为新种,并命名为枇杷蚁粉蚧 Formico-coccus eriobotryae Wang.本文记述这种害虫的各虫态特征、发现经过和发生为害情况。蚁粉蚧栖居为害枇杷根部,并与隔担子菌 Septobasidium sp.共生。根部受害结果导致村势衰弱、减产,若无适当防治措施,植株经3~4年后死亡。文末就此虫的防治和检疫问题提出初步意见。
