Observing tunica and corpus in the promeristem center under an electron microscope, there were seen many rough endoplasmic reticulums, mitochondria and plastids which even more in tunica and corpus within the leaf buttress. The primary meristem, in which the vacuolization of cell begins and the mitosis being still frequent, is derived from the promeristem. It consists of the protoderm, fundamental meristem, mesophyll meristem and protocambium. All the primary meristems, except the centric fundamental meristem, contain a large amount of rough endoplasmic reticulum and other cell organs. The ratio of the cytoplasm is low due to the high vacuolization of the cell in the centric fundamental meristem. Therefore, the tunica and corpus of the leaf buttress and all the primary meristems with higher mitosis frequency form the vigorous zone while those of the centric promeristem and fundamental meristem with lower mitosis form the quiescent zone in the shoot apex.

The embryonic cells formed through these two ways possesed adevelopmental process similar to general zygotic embryoes with the proembryos of 2- 4 cells, balland the emhryoids of heart, torpedo or with cotyledons. The embryoid with double polaritiesfinally developed further into the intact plantlet.

福录考(PhloxdrummondiiHook)体细胞胚胎发生的方式有两种:一是由叶外植体具有一定功能的特化细胞脱分化为胚性细胞,如叶表皮细胞、维管束鞘及韧皮薄壁细胞均可发生脱分化进行分裂,形成胚性细胞或分生细胞团;二是叶外植体先脱分化形成愈伤组织,并产生许多分生组织中心,在其附近首先出现维管束系统,然后在其周围或附近产生胚性细胞或分生细胞团。通过上述两种方式形成的胚性细胞均可通过与一般会子胚相类似的发育过程,形成球形、心脏形、鱼雷形和具子叶的成熟类胚体,最后发育成具根和芽的完整植株。
