By using CAE software MSC MARC,the working character of 4000kN\|screw press straight\|side cast\|steel frame is numerically simulated, and the stress and displacement of frame are achieved. Based on it, the frame structure is optimized, and its influence on strength and stiffness is studied. The results are significant for optimal design of heavy machine frames.
The results indicated that thehardenability of steel GCr15Mo was lower than that of steel GCr15SiMn, but the hardenability of steel GCr16Mowas higher than that of the steel GCr15SiMn, and the mechanical properties and contact fatigue life of bothnew steel GCr15Mo and GCr16Mo were higher than that of steel GCr15SiMn. The new steels were availablefor manufacturing heaving bearings.

In this paper is introduced the results obtained through a lot of tests and commercial check by XHMRI; the results show: to enhance the performance and life of friction material for clutch-brake, it＇s necessary to measure the performance and parameters of friction material working under different conditions by the help of real simulation of actual working state on the stock type test bed.
