This paper describes an advanced transmission (?)equipment which ensures the propulsion engines to run at an economic rated condition with the ships at low speed.It presents the transmission equipment schemes for modifying marine generator sets and deals with the application of the exhaust turbine driven generator sets which are characterized by significant economic operation results.A new power plant design and a tunnel type transmission are also delineated in the paper.
