Recent work on phosphodiesterase (PDEs) is reviewed including the newly discovered PDEs (PDE7B, PDE8, PDE9A, PDEIOA, and PDE11A) as well as the roles of other specific PDEs in the regulation of penile erection, insulin secretion, T-cell activation and infection, growth and fertility.
Methods Three hundred and twenty patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) were examined by duplex ultrasonography(Biosound-AU4,USA). Papaverine and Phentolamine were used for intracavernous injection to induce erection of penis.
RESULT Haima Zhuangyang Capsule can reduce the body weight of rats, increase their autonomous activities, prolong swimming time, markedly shorten the incubation period for the erection of penis of mice and increase the mating ability of normal male rats.
