Key absorption parameters of Cr 4+ ∶YAG are calculated based on rate equations. Pulsed Nd∶YAG laser is Q switched using Cr 4+ ∶YAG to generate 8 ns laser pulse. CW Nd∶YAG laser is also Q switched using this crystal and both period jitter and amplitude fluctuation of output pulse train are less than 5%.

The far field distribution of two practical diode lasers are measured accurately, and the comparison of the measured data with the calculated results is made based on a new far field model of diode lasers. It is shown that the new model agrees quite well with the practical devices.

NdYAG激光器中,用单晶硅实现了被动锁模,得到了脉冲定义为28ps左右,能量为约3μJ的锁模脉冲,并对锁模机理作了初步解释。
