This paper makes a study of the Ibrahim Time Domain modal identification technique.The free vibration column vector u(t) of a linear dynamic system satisfies the following equationsThe key to the ITD technique lies in identifying the matrix A or B from the measured responses by means of least square fitting. A discussion is made of the details for increasing effective measurement stations by setting transformed stations and for absorbing noise by setting some fictitious modes.A new concept of "synthesis" of free vibration information is presented., the linar combination of free vibration time histories of amplitude, velocity and acceleration, measured from different tests under the condition that the measurement stations are the same,and their time delayed histories can be used as a "synthetic" free vibration history in the ITD technique. Thus we are in a position to utilize effectively one or several sets of measured data in hand in one identification calculation and obtain much more complete and/or accurate modal parameters. As an example, the "synthesis" of one measured free vibration history, referred to as "Random Decrement of the Free Vibration" is discussed in detail. It is suggested that a new user selectable parameter NRNDEC ( Number of Random Decrement Times ) in the ITD technique be set.Two ways for checking the reliability of the modal parameters identified are presented. 1. Mixing one or several artificial "checking modes" into the free vibration measured; 2. Identifying the constant factors for modes composed in the free vibration and predicting a new free vibration. The former builds up a "bridge" for applying the research results obtained from computer-simulated indentification tests to practical identifying procedures. It's simple, but effective and intuitive.

The present article introduces a new technique of measuring the vibration of objects. A laser is employed to illuminate the phase plate to produce a permanent optical interference field, The object is put in the interference field and the vibration information of the pattern is recorded, The amplitude of vibration is analysed by means of the interference pattern, This theory is fully verified by the result of experiments.

本文介绍测量物体振动的一种新方法。该方法由相干光源照明相位板,在空间产生恒定干涉场,将振动物体置于干涉场中,记录下带有物体振动信息的干涉条纹。根据此干涉条纹可定量分析物体振动的振幅。理论分析与实验结果相符。

The concepts of information quantity and information entropy and the method of maximum entropy probability estimation are introduced to random vibration signal analysis in this paper. the description of information of random vibration is discussed. As an example, the maximum entropy probabilistic density function of a compound vibration signal is calculated.
