Based on the principle and types of bio engineering technologies, an introduction is given to the specific applications of the technologies from three aspects: 1. the wide application of the technologies to pollution source remediation. Nowadays, the bio engineering technologies, including the conventional artificial bio treatment system and natural bio treatment system, are the most effective measures for water resources protection. 2. the application of the technologies to water pollution monitoring. 3. the application of the technologies to bio remediation of polluted water bodies. In consideration of different characteristics of pollution sources in different polluted areas, the modes of application of different bio engineering technologies are proposed, and the prospects of their application are also predicted. Furthermore, some problems in the application and popularization of the bio engineering technologies are analyzed, and some key techniques which need to be developed immediately are also discussed.

根据生物工程技术的基本原理和技术类型,从3个方面介绍了生物工程技术在我国水资源保护中的具体应用,一是生物工程技术在污染源治理方面的应用,它是目前应用最广、最有效的水资源保护手段,包括传统的人工生物处理系统和天然生物处理系统;二是生物工程技术在水资源污染监测中的应用;三是受污染水体的生物修复。结合我国不同区域污染源的特征,提出了不同生物工程技术的应用方式和前景。分析了生物工程技术推广运用中存在的问题,对急需开发的核心技术问题进行了探讨。
