The experimental result of laser trapping of rubidium atoms is reported. The frequency of a diode laser is stabilized by means of saturated absorption spectroscopy. The linewidth of laser frequency is less than 1 MHz, and the offsetting of laser frequency can be controlled freely by using acousto optical modulator. It satisfied the requirement of laser cooling and trapping of atoms.

Frequency of diode laser is stabilized by using saturated absorption spectroscopy, the linewidth of laser frequency is less than 1 MHz, and the offset of laser fRequency can be controlled by using acousto-optical modulator. It satisfied the requirement of laser cooling and trapping of atoms, and thus has been used to the realization of laser cooling and trapping of rubidium atoms.

用饱和吸收光谱法对二极管激光器进行了稳频,使得激光器的等效线宽小于1MHz,并利用声光调制器使激光的频移量得到控制,能满足激光冷却与囚禁原子对激光频率稳定性和频移量的要求,实现了Rb原子的激光囚禁.
