The asymmtrical rolling of metal studied here means that the workpiece is rolled between two rolls which are significantly different in diameter but rotate with the same peripheral velocity.The principal advantages of such a rolling process are the abilities to reduce the rolling pressure considerably and to save the energy consumed.The following results were obtained through experiments and theoretical analysis.1.With the reduction of one roll's diameter by 2/3 in asymmetrical rolling,the rolling pressure drops by 35 - 55% and,therefore,the rolling efficiency can be greatly raised.2.The formulae for calculating the lateral force acting on the smaller roll have been derived and simplified asF=(2sinβ-η)Pz......(when the smaller roll is off-centered in the rollingdirection,which may be defined as "positive direction rolling") F=(2sinβ+η)Pz......(when the smaller roll is off-centered in the reverserolling direction,which may be defined as "reverse direc tion rolling") where β——angle of off-centering of the smaller rollη——friction coefficient between the surfaces of two rolls; Pz——vertical rolling pressure,Pz=PcosβFrom the expriments (see Tab.1),it is evident that the lateral force F is increased with the increases of draught ΔH and rolling speed and that,moreover,the"reverse direction rolling" exerts a much greater lateral force on the smaller roll than that in "positive direction rolling".In order to reduce the maximum value of lateral force,the diameter and the rolling speed of the upper driven roll should be reduced somewhat.3.Supposing theoretically that the lateral force is equal to zero,the optimum off-centering of the smaller roll is given aswhere R1 and R2 are the radii of two work rolls respectively Table2 shows a comparison between the lateral forces measured and those calculated.

本文通过理论分析和实验研究得出: (1) 异径辊轧制由于一个工作辊直径减小了2/3,从而使轧制压力减小35~55%,大大提高了轧制效率。 (2) 探明了各种因素对侧向力的影响规律。小辊偏移角越大、轧制压下量越大及轧制速度越高,则侧向力越大;反向轧制比正向轧制时侧向力大得多。为了降低侧向力的峰值,使之趋于均化,应该适当减少上传动辊的直径或速度。 (3) 由理论分析推导出一个计算小辊侧向力(F)的简化公式;从保证轧制稳定条件出发,还求出确定小辊合理偏移量(e)的简单公式,通过实验在一定偏移量范围内得到验证。

In this paper through experimental study and theoretical analysis the following results are obtained.

本文通过理论分析和大量实验研究得出:1. 不对称轧制由于一个工作辊直径减小2/3而使轧制压力减小35~55%,大大提高轧制效率.2. 探明各种因素对侧向力的影响规律.小辊偏移角愈大、轧制压下量及轧制速度愈高则侧向力愈大;反向轧制比正向轧制有大得多的侧向力.为了降低侧向力的峰值使之趋于均化,应该适当减少上传动辊的直径或速度.3. 异径单辊传动轧制与双辊传动轧制相反,其正向轧制的侧向力较反向轧制的大得多.因此,单辊传动轧制时小工作辊应在逆轧制方向即轧件入口方向略作偏移.4. 由理论分析推导出一个计算小辊侧向力的简化公式,以及从保证轧制稳定条件出发求出确定小辊合理偏移量的简单公式,并通过实验在一定偏移量范围内得到验证.

A pilot test was carried out for the asymmetrical hot-strip rolling process on a 3-high mill with rolls of different diameters. Main results showed that (1) Because of the drop of specific roll pressure and reduction of the contact .area between metal and reduction of the contact area between metal and rolls, therolling load decreases, greatly by 48%~62% thus improving significantly the rolling efficiency; (2) The gauge of strip products from this 3-high mill can be down to l.5mm ; (3) Using such hot-rolled strips to weld thin wall steel tube to substitute for cold-rolled strips is favourable with cost significantly reduced and more economic benefits.

采用不对称异径三辊轧机进行热连轧薄带钢生产试验研究,结果表明:(1)不对称轧制时由于金属与辊面接触面积减小和单位压力的下降而使轧制压力大幅度降低(48%~62%),显著提高了轧制效率;(2)所轧产品最小厚度由原二辊同径轧制的2.75mm.减小到1.5mm,产品精度质量也得到提高,(3)用这种热轧薄带钢代替冷轧带钢制造轻型薄壁焊管,显著降低生产成本,提高经济效益.
